Proverbs and Righteous Living

The Book of Proverbs comes at you from different angles to call you to righteous living.
On the one hand, there are verses that warn you of shame for continued foolishness. “Like a dog that returns to its vomit is a fool who repeats his folly” (Pr.26:11).
On the other hand, there are verses that encourage you to do right, even if you’ve stumbled repeatedly. “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again. . .” (Pr.24:16).
In either case, the idea is the same. Flee folly, pursue righteousness, and live.
